குறள் – 32.

அறத்தினூஉங் காக்கமும் இல்லை அதனை
மறத்தலின் ஊங்கில்லை கேடு (1-4-2)

ஒருவருடைய வாழ்கைக்கு அறத்தை விட நன்மையானதும்- நன்மை தருவதும் இல்லை: அறத்தை போற்றாமல் மறப்பதை-அறத்தைத் தவிர்த்தலை, விடக்கொடியதும் இல்லை.
